My name is James B. Harding. I am a first generation American, with roots from England. My parents emigrated from Manchester, England in the late eighties. I was brought up with a strong British culture but also adopted many American traditions. One of the most important fun facts about me is that I absolutely love Manchester City Football Club, “Come on the Blues!”
I grew up in Mansfield, Texas, about 25 minutes southeast of downtown Fort Worth. I have a sister who is three years younger than me. I graduated high school in 2005 and decided to face the working world before going to college. For me this was a good decision because it helped me to value my education. I graduated college in December of 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. After graduation I took a job with the City of Fort Worth as a Recreation Programmer. In this position I coordinated all-day sport events for children ages 5-13. I stayed in this program for almost one year and a half and then took a position with Mansfield ISD as a Tier III Instructional Aide. Prior to my position at Mansfield ISD I knew that I wanted to go into teaching. I accepted this job because it is a good steppingstone into teaching.
I am working towards a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in combination with the TMATE accelerated certification program at Tarleton State University. I have received certification as an Education Aid III and EC-12 Physical Education and am working towards the EC-6 Core Subjects.
During the end of my last semester of college in 2016 I met my Peruvian wife, Estela. She was finishing DPT school and graduated as an orthopedic physical therapist in May 2017. We got married in 2018, moved to Fort Worth, and now are the proud parents of a beautiful 4-month-old baby girl, Lily. I continue to coach for Coerver soccer, a British soccer school. We are excited about what our future hold.
